The Hiʻilani EcoHouse has incorporated environmental art and design in every step of its creation, from overall design to details of the interior. Art addresses both the heart and the mind. “Green” art takes on additional meaning. It re-envisions our relationship to nature, proposing new ways for us to exist, with the understanding that we are one with our environment. Eco-art has the power to transform consciousness and sharpen our focus on fundamental issues. It expresses hope by bringing our attention to sustainable practices that support quality of life for the planet and its inhabitants.
Hiʻilani EcoHouse is partnering with local artists on many aspects of the Interior. Lighting fixtures of ceramic with LED technology have been created by sculptor Teri Sugg. Designs are being hand printed by artists on Sunbrella fabrics for several areas of the home. Some of the built in cabinetry will have printed doors made from Sunbrella Renaissance material (made from 50% recycled fabric). Designer Angie Bolman choose Sunbrella fabrics for their durability and their strong Environmental commitment.
